Tour of the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. It is the largest city on the Caspian Sea, where a quarter of the population of Azerbaijan lives. Baku owes its development to oil deposits, its wealth manifests itself in modern buildings surrounding the historic centre. We will start the sightseeing tour with exemplified restored Icheri Sheher – the Baku Old Town, where we will take a closer look at its symbols: the Virgin’s Tower from the 12th century, the Palace of Shirvanshah’s. We will see from the hill the panorama of the city amphitheatre located in the Boulevard with the Prospekt Neftchilar, a promenade stretching along the coast. In the afternoon, a half-hour cruise on the Boulevard of Baku We will visit the Heydar Aliyev cultural centre, one of the most beautiful, modern buildings in the world from recent years. It was built according to the design of the famous architect Zaha Hadid. Unusual lines of the interior of this facility and beautiful light play encourage visitors to visit temporary, often historical, exhibitions presenting the culture of Azerbaijan. Certainly, lovers of modern architecture will remember for a long time in this unique place. Around the centre, there is a panorama of the city with the beautifully maintained greenery of the Aliyev centre, which is one of the few characteristic and favourite public spaces in Baku. At the end of the day, we will go through the dazzling street of Nizami, we will also see the Fountain Square.

Today we will see the greatest attractions surrounding the Azerbaijani capital. We will stop in Gobustan with prehistoric rock carvings documenting the life of the former inhabitants of this area. We will also have the opportunity to approach the unique mud volcanoes. We will take a route through the oil fields to the Absheron Peninsula and visit the fire temple of Ateshgah, the sacred place of Zoroastrians. We will ride to a stop at the unusual “burning” mountain of YanarDag from which natural gas has been evaporated for thousands of years.

After breakfast and checking out, we will set off deeper into the country. Our first stop will be harmoniously integrated into the vertical wall of the rock mausoleum of sheikh Diri Baba in the village of Maraza. The architecture of the object uses the symbolism of geometric figures in an interesting way, and the place itself emanating spirituality has become a legend. Then we get to Shamakhy – a city with a rich heritage, which over two thousand years of its existence has often become an arena for major events. We will see there a magnificent, historic Friday Mosque, a nostalgic cemetery of Yeddi Gumbez, as well as the family tombs of Shirvanshah’s. Next, we pass the canyon of the Girdimanchay River to the ancient village of Lahij located far from the main routes. The place is known for its characteristic, perfectly preserved buildings and handicraft workshops specializing in copper products and carpet weaving. In Lahij we have a chance to see how the traditional technique is made of copper trays, plates, jugs and spells. After free time shopping for crafts and souvenirs, drive to Sheki for an overnight stay

After breakfast and checking out, we will visit Sheki. It is one of the most charming cities of Azerbaijan; located 700 m above sea level, surrounded by mountains and oak forest, reminiscent of an ancient amphitheatre. It was known as an important point of the Silk Road. Former rulers, the Khan, placed here in the 18th century their summer palace in oriental style, one of the most valuable and the most magnificent in this part of the world with unique frescoes and stained glass windows. We will also see a caravanserai – a former inn for caravan merchants. Transfer to the pretty Caucasian village of Kish, the original capital of the local Khanate with stone buildings and cobbled streets. We will see here a well-preserved Albanian church from the twelfth century.
Departure to the border of Georgia. Border crossing and passport control.
Meeting with a guide on the border of Lagodekhi (17:00). Then we go to Signaghi.

After breakfast departure for the excursion program. In the “city of love and music” – Sighnaghi. The city is limited to 4.5 km of the fortress wall. The fortress has 5 entrances and 28 watchtowers. Sightseeing tour of the newly restored city resembling the South of Italy. Magnificent view of the Alazani Valley. Especially in the city are remembered balconies with wooden openwork fences. Here in the narrow streets of the old city, one can feel the flavour of the past centuries. Signage became a city in the second half of the 18th century. Then, or rather in 1762, a fortress was built.
Excursion to the museum of the artist Pirosmani. Then we go to Tsinandali.
“The region of Kakhetian gardens”, as Alexander Dumas called it. Here the traditions and secrets of the production of wonderful Georgian wines and the world-famous Georgian hospitality are sacredly kept and kept. A visit to the house of the museum A. Chavchavadze. This is an old noble estate, known for the fact that the whole cultural nobility of Georgia at that time gathered here. The Botanical Garden has been preserved since those ancient times. There is also an ancient enoteca on the estate, where unique endemic, endemic wines are stored.

Overnight in Tbilisi

After breakfast, we will go on a day-long tour of Tbilisi and the surrounding area. We will start with a trip to the nearby town of Mtskheta inscribed on the UNESCO list, the first capital and the religious centre of Georgia. Located at an important trade route connecting the Black Sea coast with the cities on the Caspian coast, it existed in deep antiquity. For several centuries, Mtskheta was the capital of the Georgian kingdom of Iberia. We will see the cathedral of Saint Teresa of Chichovela, which during the centuries was the place of coronation and burial of the rulers of Georgia and the seat of the highest church authorities. According to the legend, the robe of Christ was placed here. We will also go to the lookout point under the church Jvari, from which there is a beautiful view of Mtskheta. In the afternoon return to Tbilisi. We will see, among others the largest sacral building in Transcaucasia – the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the church of Metechi from the 13th century, located high above the Kura River. We enter the cable car to Narikala – an ancient fortress rising above Tbilisi with a beautiful panorama of the city. We will pass Rustaveli – the longest street in Tbilisi, stretching between Freedom Square and the square of the Rose Revolution. They are located next to it, among others old parliament, the National Museum, as well as numerous galleries, theatres and cafes. Return to the hotel in Tbilisi

After breakfast (or depending on the flight hours, breakfast packages possible), check out from the hotel (until 12.00). Then transfer to the airport in Baku and return to Homeland
